CELLOFOAM's logistics are crucial for optimising customer service, particularly through short delivery times and complete just-in-time deliveries. Many customers require insulating materials at a fixed time in order to operate their production lines efficiently.
CELLOFOAM has developed a special logistics concept in which lorries are loaded with the right goods with pinpoint accuracy and a completeness check is carried out. Picking takes place in a narrow high-bay warehouse with the aim of working without scanners in order to increase efficiency. To this end, CELLOFOAM is looking for small, lightweight and robust devices that make handling easier and ensure that the right items are picked.
Solution
CELLOFOAM uses the ergonomic smart watch from NIMMSTA to improve the order picking process. The lightweight scanner (45 g) remains attached to the back of the hand, leaving the hands free. It captures barcodes from up to four metres away and can perform up to 6,000 scans with a long battery life, making work in high-bay warehouses easier. After a successful four-week trial, CELLOFOAM decided to introduce the smart watch. The NIMMSTA BASIC version is currently being used, which provides feedback from the ERP system.
In future, the company plans to upgrade to the NIMMSTA PRO version, which enables a bidirectional connection and allows input via the touch display without the need for new scanners.

NIMMSTA's Smart Watch enables vehicle-related just-in-time delivery with completeness checks in a special logistics concept. System integration was straightforward, as only one programme had to be installed and no employee training was required. Thanks to the interactive user guidance, the system is self-explanatory. The goal of error-free and efficient order picking and increased employee satisfaction was quickly achieved.
